USING THE SITE

All of the clips in the Blue Sky collection originate on 35mm film, and have been transferred to video digitally.

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

You can search the entire clip library either by entering keywords or by browsing categories. You can also limit your search to clips that have been transferred to Hi Definition only, and search in the same way.

Once successfully logged in you may use additional site features, save clips to your own personal ClipBin and Download DV NTSC QuickTime (Sample Downloads) preview clips of specific shots. Click on ClipBin or My ClipBin links, there you can create specific folders to organize shots and/or simply add shots to ClipBin by clicking on +ClipBin under a specific shot. To find the downloadable preview Sample Download for a clip click on the QT under a specific shot to locate it.

TRADITIONAL (RIGHTS PROTECTED) LICENSING

License fees are based on the type of project and duration of usage, and rates vary accordingly.

You are paying for the right to use the footage for a specific project. Footage remains the property of Blue Sky Stock Footage, and may not be resold, or reused in any other application without a new license and additional fees. Masters must be returned to Blue Sky after use, and licenses go into effect once a fee has been negotiated, a contract signed, and payment received.

PRICING FOR TRADITIONAL LICENSES: We offer competitive rates for broadcast and non-broadcast uses, and will gladly quote you a price. FOR A FREE QUOTE, simply CONTACT US by phone, fax or email with information about the shots you are interested in, and their intended use.

If you decide to license a shot, we will fax you a contract to sign and fax back to Blue Sky. (For more information go to ORDERING on this site.)

HIGH DEFINITION

"High Def" is one of the newer formats which is fast becoming an industry standard. Producers have started to ask for High Def, and so all of our recent footage is being mastered on D5, in a 16 x 9 format -- as well as the more standard 4 x 3. Ordering a master on High Def (D5) will cost more than ordering it on DigiBeta, or other NTSC formats.

NOTE: Since the same footage is also transferred to a 4 x 3 format for preview and other non-High Def purposes, the preview clips will not show the entire High Def image. Our newest footage does show the actual High Def image in "letterbox," or more rectangular format, and contains more image area on the sides of the frame.

FILM NEGATIVE FOR FEATURE USE

Most of the collection is accessible on 35mm interpositive or dupe negative, for feature, re-transfer, or other film uses. If you are interested getting any of the images on film, please Contact our main office to discuss availability and pricing.
